Avtar the last airbender anime review

Avatar: The Last Airbender is easily the greatest Nickelodeon series of all time, and that's saying something considering their lineup. The show has a lot going for it: an incredible and binge-worthy (yes, that's totally a word) story, complex and lovable characters, great animation that still looks great today, and action that's not only exciting and excellent, but well-choreographed.
I would give you a synopsis but the description from Google above could probably explain it better than I can.
The concept of the series alone ropes you in, and that's because it's unique and you want to learn more about this intresting world.

One of the best parts of Avatar is the world-building. Because of the main goal, we get to travel around the world with the characters and explore amazing and cool places. Since we're never in the same place for two long, the locations never get boring or repetitive.

The show tackles many mature themes such as war, genocide, life, death, responsibility, disability, love, and so much more. Despite this, it never feels like too much and it's natural and integrated into the story very well.
Also, as much as the show can be deep and mature at times, it has a great sense of humor. The jokes mostly come from characters like Sokka who acts as the comic relief. The show perfectly balances humor and action very well, unlike SOME movies that were directed by the writer of Stuart Little.

Although I love almost everything about the show, the best part about it is the characters. Each and everyone is great in their own way.
Aang is fun and acts very much like a kid, but I liked seeing him mature and grow into his role as the Avatar.
Katara fit well as the voice of reason and caretaker of the group, but also had a great arc of being a wannabe waterbender to one of the greatest in history.
Sokka was an excellent comic relief who while funny still had a serious and battle-concious side.
Toph's sarcasm and arrogance were very different from her teammates which was a breath of fresh air. Also, she is the coolest bender ever.
Azula was evil and manipulative but also complex and sympethatic at times. She was also the first character I loved to hate.

Iroh was just a pleasent and lovable firbender whose dynamic with Zuko was excellent.
Speaking of Zuko, we all know why we love HIM.
BEST REDEMPTION ARC EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Each and every character was lovable and complex in their own way. Ozai may not have been the most developed or complex villian, but he contributed to the AMAZING finale so that's something.

In the end, Avatar: The Last Airbender is truly one of the greats in cartoons. Sure, some shows are a bit better in my eyes, but Avatar is nonetheless a masterpiece. If you haven't watched Avatar: The Last Airbender, I hope this review convinced you to do so. Check out my other reviews of cartoons and I'll see you later!
